Will you pray with us?

From today (Wednesday, March 7) to Sunday, March 11, Scott is leaving to go participate in a program called KAIROS. KAIROS (meaning God's timing) is a program that goes into prisons to build relationships and share the hope/love/grace of Jesus. I'm so happy for Scott because he has had such a heart for prison ministry, but has had trouble getting plugged in. Now after months of preparation, the time has come. I'm not sure all the things Scott will be doing, but I know KAIROS needs to be saturated in prayer. The prisons are often the sight of huge spiritual warfare, but where the battle is big our God is bigger!

What can you pray for? I'm glad you asked....

1. Pray for safe travels for the team members who will be traveling from home to the prison on Wednesday and home again on Sunday night. Also pray for safe travel daily to and from prison and team retreat site.

2. Pray for the team members' good health and restful sleep.

3. Pray for the team members to follow the KAIROS motto faithfully to the residents: listen, listen, love, love.

4. Pray for the Holy Spirit to be with the team members during the weekend.

5. Pray for the Holy Spirit to be involved in all talks and meditations of the team members.

6. Pray for the worship music to be inspiring and Spirit-led.

7. Pray that all the registered residents to be present each day until Sunday's closing.

8. Pray that the fears and hate will be lifted from the resident's hearts and trust and love will prevail.

9. Pray the each resident will receive the love of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

10. Pray that the residents will give their hearts to Jesus and accept Him as their Savior.

11. Pray that each resident will participate in the weekend and form Christian groups that will continue to influence Augusta Corectional Center for Christ.

12. (Specific to our family) Pray for me and Scott as this is the longest Scott and I have been apart for the 5 1/2 years we have been married. Also, pray for me as I travel to Richmond to stay with my family from Wednesday-Sunday. Pray that I can love and care for Luke well as Scott is gone.

During family devotions we often sing "Shine, Jesus Shine".
...Lord the Light or Your Love is shining,
In the midst of the darkness shining,
Jesus light of the world shine upon us,
Set us free by the truth You now bring us,
Shine on me. Shine on me.

Shine Jesus shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit blaze,
Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your word
Lord and let there be light...

Please pray that God uses Scott, and the other KAIROS volunteers, to shine the light of Jesus into the darkness.
